ABOUT SHANE
2024 has been an incredible year for Shane Douthwright, highlighted by the release of new original music and unforgettable performances. He graced the main stage at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival where he showcased nine of his new original songs, performed three days solo at the Stan Rogers Folk Festival featuring 16 of his new original songs, and performed aboard Royal Caribbean cruises in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. Additionally, he poured his heart into performances at Caribbean Goes Country in Holguin, Cuba, and Caribbean Goes 80's in Varadero, Cuba.
Shane has been busy writing and recording new songs, providing fans with fresh releases both online and at his shows. Many more songs are still in the vault, waiting for their opportunity to be recorded.
Although Shane has predominantly concentrated on bluegrass music throughout his career, he has recently explored beyond this genre, uncovering a remarkable versatility in his ability to perform various musical styles. He easily fits into country, roots, folk, bluegrass, and Americana, with his original music showcasing this diversity. Shane's latest releases incorporate elements of traditional country, new country, rock, bluegrass, and roots music. Whether performing solo or with a full band, he skillfully adjusts his style to match any setting, allowing him to connect with diverse audiences and making each performance a unique experience.
Shane’s commitment goes far beyond music; he actively seeks to make a positive difference in the world. His involvement in the festival in Cuba was more than just a performance—it was an opportunity to give back by raising funds for underprivileged youth in the country, showcasing that his music serves a purpose greater than mere entertainment. With over 20 years of experience as a high school teacher, Shane has coached track and field, badminton, and basketball teams at the high school, provincial, and university levels. He has taught and inspired hundreds of students in his music classes, and his passion for music continues to grow year after year. Once a shy kid too nervous to perform a rap he co-wrote for his junior high graduation, Shane now regularly entertains thousands. He hopes to motivate other artists to pursue their passions, no matter how late they feel they might be to the journey.
